Hi 187Inc,
I’m not sure what to suggest as I don’t like using finger picks. I have long nails on my right hand for playing classical guitar, but I have experimented with finger and thumb picks and found them to be awkward to use.
But that’s just me..
Sorry I can’t make any useful suggestions.
James.

Not quite sure what …
Not quite sure what to suggest. It is difficult to keep the slide parallel to the frets!
I don’t think it’s so important when you are playing single notes, but chords do sound better when the slide is in line with the fret.
You just have to look at where you are playing with the slide hand and keep practicing.
Sorry I can’t think of anything more instructive to say! Anyone else have anything to add?
Good luck with your playing,
James

Thanks for the …
Thanks for the comment and advice DJG
Slide positioning seems to be quite open to many interpretations of what’s ‘right’ and ‘wrong’
Also, like some people’s preference for different types of slide, be it copper, glass etc… or which finger they prefer to put the slide on!
Thanks again for the comment,
James

nice lesson- but ( …
nice lesson- but (in my opinion) it’s much better practice to keep the slide on your second knuckle as opposed to situating it all the way down your finger- bend your knuckle to keep the slide in place on that knuckle if it’s too big.
your mileage may vary.
From my experience, having the slide on the second knuckle puts your hand in a better position to use your other fingers as well doing slants and such.
