the beginning you … the beginning you had the chorus set perfectly, then you cranked it and to me, it sounded too much. the behringer v amp 2 sounds better than what your showing. heck, jsut take the c 14 patch, and add chorus, and you got as grat sound withoput all the huss and fuss your’e trying to show.
If you can afford … If you can afford one, check out the Korg pitchblack tuner. It’s literally 1000% more accurate than the Boss, and it is 100% true bypass when it’s off, so there’s no tone suck at all. It even disengages the battery when it’s off.
yea my friend has … yea my friend has it and it does suck out his tone. It dosen’t do it for me though. Ill try it anyway and the end of my loop just to see. I’ll comment you back on this^^
You’re right, there … You’re right, there is no wrong way. And different stomp boxes have different buffers, so always trust your ears first. I personally don’t like the sound of most modulation in an effects loop, but I always put it after dirt boxes. I would test out your tuner in different positions. The Boss tu-2 is a legendary tone suck. I have talked to countless people who can’t use it anywhere but at the end of the line.
Don’t get me wrong, … Don’t get me wrong, there is no wrong way. Its more a personnal taste. I put my phase and flange before my distortion because i like the sound better than in the loop. Just sounds better like that. Again, I agree that most chorus pedal should go in effect loop with delays & other things. But! i still think tuners should be used first. I have a tu-2 and its not sucking out my tone. If you don’t have a tuner that mutes then you should put it after a noise supressor to mute yourself.
If you’ve ever seen … If you’ve ever seen a sound wave you know why you put modulation AFTER distortion. Dirt boxes and compression CLIPS a sound wave. It eliminates some of the information. If you have modulation in front of distortion then you eliminate 70% of the sound of the modulation. Try putting tremolo in front of distortion, and you might as well not use tremolo at all. You CAN put a tuner anywhere in the chain, but if you have a lousy tone sucking tuner you’d be better off with it in the end of the line.
Generally speaking … Generally speaking effects should be placed with Wahs first (old vintage wahs without good buffers are the exception) distortion, and compression effects next, and then modulation (delay, phaser, chorus, flange). Most tuners should go on the very end. If you’re using an effects loop, put all the modulation in the loop and put everything else between your guitar and your amp.
The chorus effect … The chorus effect on here is the nastiest digital sound I have ever heard. Do a youtube search of the BMF Liquid Sky. It’s beautiful, and ANALOG!
if he’s actually … if he’s actually using his stack in the background, then probably about 2000 dollars. if he’s using the small combo amp on which the V-amp effects unit is situated, then probably between 50 and 200 dollars.
